Hype Machine’s weekly discovery newsletter, Stack, launched in 2014 as “a snapshot of what’s happening in music now, from our hearts to your inbox.”
Five tracks, a featured album, a good mix, and a good read, delivered every week. That’s roughly 2500 songs from almost as many artists over the past decade.
As Stack’s author, I’ve tried to highlight a range of music, something interesting from each loosely defined sonic bin. The practice of listening, reading, and putting Stack together was a regular reminder that there is real joy in discovery. I hope that it’s brought some to readers as well.
