One thing that I love about writing bios is that they often don't have bylines. It's a collaborative craft that reaches the public as part of something greater; context, prose, and style in service of the artist's vision. I'm grateful to work with musicians, to be trusted with these stories. A successful bio articulates and honors that vision, while meeting the world where it lives, still accomplishing the foundational marketing objectives: to compel, inform, and inspire.

My experience working within both record label teams and editorial positions has allowed me to see the medium from several vantages, understanding all the places these words reach throughout campaigns, from press to DSPs to retail to socials, various touchpoints where art meets audience.

Outside of my in-house post as communications director, narrative lead, and press strategist, I’ve also written bios in a freelance capacity. Clients include Dais Records, Dead Oceans, drink sum wtr, Ghostly International, Nettwerk Music Group, RVNG Intl., Touchtheplants, and Secret City Records, spanning releases across electronic, hip-hop, indie, jazz, pop, R&B, and beyond.
